Creating visual identity for student film festival frka
'Frame by frame.'
FRKA is a student film festival organized every two years by students of 2nd year BA studies Productions, Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, with the support of the administration ADU. FRKA is held biannually and alternates with theatrical festival KRADU. With its high attendance in recent years, FRKA has became an indispensable cultural event in Zagreb.

Identity that breathes new media
Aiming to make the experience fun and to draw people in, we created a visual identity that breathes new media. We put the letters FRKA in full focus, mirroring the frame by frame experience by rotating letters — just like film tape does. Every letter is unique with its color and position, just like every director of a film has its own individual approach to work.

The main stage illuminated with purple quirky identity
The centerpiece of the ceremony was a great stage illuminated in our purple and quirky identity. We helped speakers bring across the presenting and awarding prizes to the best authors. We designed everything that the award-winning author received. The award has consisted of a statue, a written acknowledgment, and a neat branded folder.

Partying all night long in FRKA style
After film projections and ceremony was time for a good student party — in FRKA style. We designed all the party prompts to enhance the party environment. People could take pictures in front of a press wall. Our neon signs were tossing light on partying crowd all night long.
A collaborative academic endeavor
This project was made in association with Faculty of Arhitecture / School of Design, University of Zagreb. Coautors of the project are Ljubica Golubic and Marijana Simag. Sabrina Herak-Smokovic and Marin Leo Jankovic are responsible for the organization of the project.
